CollegeCheck is an online site providing college students the help that they have been looking for. Help that includes finding reviews about courses and professors, figuring out whether a course is worth taking, and many more features. Students will also be able to complain about things they don't like about their college or highlight what they do love. The site will even include a gossip blog.
The site will also have highlights that include easiest, challenging, and helpful courses. As well as courses that were a waste of time. We want students to be able to easily browse through this and to get a heads up.CollegeCheck's main goal is to make students feel prepared.
Once CollegeCheck is up and running, we hope to work with different colleges. So that colleges do refer students to our website and students will want to help us out. A challenge for us will be to get students to post on our site and to keep this going. I feel that once we can get students from one college to post then we can expand to several different colleges. CollegeCheck plans to expand to law school, med school, business school and to any other important educational path.

I think this is a great idea, but I would encourage you to keep the focus on evaluating courses and professors rather than the college as a whole.

I am not sure whether CollegeCheck is a productivity tool used for students attempting to make serious decisions about their educational path or if its a ratemyprofessor type service to bash and gossip about college life. If both are chosen then i feel CollegeCheck services at times could be considered not reliable for the serious student.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good idea and I think a lot of college students would use it. I would probably use it but it might be helpful to narrow down the scope a little bit.
ReplyDeleteI believe a website like this would be popular among students. But the students should connect to the website using their school NetID so that they can't bash professors anonymously and unfairly.
